GSR Pro Takes Collegiate National Downhill Title
After a frustrating finish in 1999 and a cancelled downhill final in 1998, Jon Wilson was itching to get back on the saddle in 2000 and show his fellow students what he could do. On October 18 he did just that taking the win in the Collegiate National Downhill Championships by two seconds on a challenging course in Sandpoint, Idaho. Jon also pulled off a third place finish in the slalom against some well seasoned Pro and Semi-Pro riders helping him to capture third in the Individual Omnium competition. It was a longtime coming, but for Wilson the victory was extra sweet.
