Team GSR Repeats Sweep At State FinalsTeam GSR closed out the '98 season much like '97 with a sweep at the Northern California State Downhill Championships. The difference this year? Even more GSR jerseys on the podium and a new locale, Bear Valley.

Jon Wilson took the Men's Pro class and cinched the series title in the process. Paige Lampert captured the win in the Women's Pro class and ended up second in the series. Semi-pro rider Scott McElroy had a third place finish. Team manager Mike Galeoto came out of semi-retirement to brave the Hardtail division and took second. And Eric Rasmussen, riding for GSR and Bike Brothers out of Carson City, won the men's Expert 30-34 division and secured the series title.

Look for Team GSR to come out strong in '99 when they make their debut at the new Sea Otter Downhill.

1998 Off To A Good Start For Team GSRThe `98 season got off to a spanking start for GSR with Jon Wilson and Paige Lampert taking Men's and Women's Dual Slalom honors at the Rockhopper and things haven't slowed down. The Team, newly decked out in cool blue and white race uniforms, has made quite a showing on podiums from Big Bear to Boise. The Mach 8, tricked out with a fat Anti-Pasta Fork from Razorrock, is eating up the new nasty technical courses that have become the norm on the circuit this year.

Team GSR Scores Big At Big BearGSR riders, 18 year old Jason Blanchard, former Motorcross Champion Scott McElroy and new Team member Jim Norman, made a splash at the first National in Big Bear with 7th, 2nd and 4th place finishes. There's no question these three will be moving up a category in `99.

GSR Peavine Downhill Course Gets Good RatingsGSR hosted the 2nd Annual GSR Peavine Downhill in their home town of Reno. Racers were stoked with the new course that featured jumps, rock drops and lots of berms. Jon smoked the field, which included three young Eastern Europen racers doing a stint in the US with their Hayes coach. There was no shortage of GSR jerseys on the podium with Paige picking up second, Jason and Scott each grabbing 4th and Jim taking 6th.
